About The McGuire-Miller Union

The Miller and McGuire union starts with Maynor McGuire Sr. and Mae Eder Banks who was the daughter of Sally (Miller) Banks. Maynor Sr. and Mae Eder were both born in 1900 and they married in 1920. They were from Brundidge, Alabama and later moved to Slocomb, Alabama because there was vacant land in Slocomb and the story is told that they were giving land away for free in Slocomb.
In Slocomb is where they laid their roots, and the McGuire family began to grow. They had 14, 2 of the children Juliette and Grady died while infants.
The McGuires and the Millers were very close, and the Millers assisted with bringing the family north to New Jersey. where many of their family members reside today.
